Windows 8 and Windows RT

YUDU cross-platform Apps have been designed from the start to cater for the arrival of Microsoft's new operating systems.

Windows 8 is the new version of the operating system. The desktop version will run the same apps that will be available on the tablets, the difference is just the use of mouse or track pad instead of touch. YUDU has added these controls to the Windows 8 Apps so you can seamlessly move from a laptop or desktop to a Windows tablet. It will be available at the end of October.

The Apps will be backwards compatible with Windows 7 and we expect this to be very useful for hybrid tablet/laptops running the Windows 8 environment.

Windows RT is the mobile solution that uses the same Arm chip that is found in many smartphones and tablets, particularly the iPad. We will be advising our clients on the launch date for this solution as soon as it is finalised.

Just like our other platforms, publishing is easy on the YUDU Premier Platform– simply sign in, create proofs, set up your in-app purchases (or have us do it), then publish, making your content public for your readers whenever you like.
