Peace One Day, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating global awareness of and participation in Peace Day - a day of worldwide ceasefire and non-violence occurring on the 21st September each year.
Peace One Day was founded by film maker Jeremy Gilley in 1999, who campaigned to try and establish the first ever Day of Peace with a fixed calendar date. In 2001 member states of the UN unanimously recognised Peace Day as the 21st September.
Peace One Day is working on a variety of new and existing initiatives to maximise the reach of Peace Day and leverage life-saving activity and individual action throughout the world on 21st September.
