General FAQ

1) Why do you do so many different things?

Our technology is very versatile and the common currency is digital documentation. So wherever digital documentation is needed to be delivered to desktops, smartphones or tablets we can be involved. Documents form a core part of communication and we have built on top of this other communication capabilities such as video, audio, interactive elements and games and more recently sms, voice and in-app messaging. Our apps and web solutions all fall under the global umbrella of online communications.

2) What can YUDU do for me?

If you are a corporation looking for better internal or external communications we have a range of solutions starting from critical communication in a crisis to brilliant corporate publications for promoting your company. If you are a publisher aiming to reach new online audiences or move a publications from print to digital for an existing readership, or you are retailer searching for more customers, we can help you.

We work alongside a wide variety of publishers, large and small businesses, organisations such as NGOs and governments helping them communicate better with their audiences.

3) What sorts of content can you help me publish?

Our YUDU Publisher system works from PDF content, which can then be enhanced with multimedia content such as video and audio, as well as HTML5 content, such as quizzes and games.

YUDU's mobile container applications can also support multimedia and HTML5 content that sit in their own respective categories within the app, separate from any PDF content.

4) What do you mean by “cloud-based”?

Simply, this means that our publishing system, YUDU Publisher, works within a browser environment. Less simply, it refers to the fact that this system is located server-side, so there are no lengthy downloads or installations and the experience is optimised for performance.

5) How long has YUDU been in business?

The YUDU Platform was launched in 2007. Unlike many other digital media companies, we’re a long-established name with a track-record of innovation. We were one of the first companies to pioneer publishing apps for tablet devices back in 2010. This means that we offer guaranteed experience, expertise and security.

6) How much does it cost?

That depends on what it is you’re looking to get published, to what platforms and in what kind of volume. If you’d like to get a tailored idea of what costing would entail for you and your project, just get in touch .

We also have a creative team, who charge hourly agency prices for high-end design input into any project.

7) How long does it take to get started?

It depends on your requirements. An app may take a few weeks to get built exactly to your needs and submitted and approved by the Apple, Android and Windows stores. Sentinel project usually are up and running in 6 weeks.

If it is simple web publishing it is a matter of minutes to upload your content to our system and start publishing it to apps and to our browser-based reader. YUDU Publisher's workflow is straightforward and easy to use.
